Media Advisory: EduRec Eats Presents “Cooking Competition for Kids”

TULSA, OK – EduRec Youth & Family Fun Center will be hosting a 7-week virtual cooking competition for youth ages 12 to 18. This show is designed to create excitement about the building/opening of the new grocery store and, engage youth during this time of social distancing caused by COVID-19. The goal is to bring awareness and educate students about food disparity, food deserts and healthy food options. The creators of the show are EduRec Executives, Charles Harper and Damali Wilson. The program, is sponsored by Eco Alliance, the company building and operating the grocery store at Pine and Peoria in North Tulsa, and Oasis Fresh Market, the grocery store being built. Eco Alliance will provide the food to the students to complete the fod challenges weekly. The Tulsa Dream Center is one of the show’s partners and this event is endorsed by District 1 City Councilor, Vanessa Hall Harper. The Host of the show is Ramal Brown, “The Hometown Heat” and Director of the Juice Radio Show in North Tulsa. Food Gurus, Vanessa Hall-Harper (City Councilor), Pastor Jamaal Dyer (Friendship Baptist Church) and Aubrey Shine (Radio Personality and Public Figure) will offer virtual tips to the 25 contestants to help them make it to the finals. The community will vote for their favorite junior chef and there will be weekly eliminations. The community will vote based on creativity, presentation and family engagement. Oasis Fresh Market will award the top 3 contestants as follows:
First place, voucher for $100 per month in groceries for twelve (12) months;
Second place, voucher for $50 per month in groceries for twelve (12) months; and
Third place, voucher for $25 per month in groceries for twelve (12) months.
